Bahujan Samaj Vivah is a matrimonial website for people in the Bahujan community. We collect only what the current application needs to create accounts, save profiles, show public introductions, and operate Interest and Matches.
What this page covers
This policy explains information used by the public website and the signed-in account area. It does not invent processing that the application does not perform, such as advertising trackers or a public contact form.
If a later version of the product starts collecting additional information, this page should be updated to match that behaviour.
Account and authentication information
When you register or sign in, you provide a mobile number or an email address. The application stores that contact detail, whether it has been verified, and related account timestamps such as when the account was created and when you last signed in.
Verification uses a one-time password (OTP) sent to the mobile number or email you entered. OTP values are handled as short-lived authentication challenges. They are not shown on your public profile.
After a successful OTP, the application keeps you signed in with an HTTP-only session cookie. The website’s JavaScript does not read that cookie. Signing out clears the session cookie.
Profile information
If you complete a profile, the application stores the details you enter, including:
- Basic details such as name, date of birth, gender, and marital status
- Education and career details such as education, occupation, and income
- Religion, community, caste, mother tongue, and location
- Partner preferences you choose to save
Profile photos
The profile setup screens let you choose a photo on your device so you can preview how it might look. Those photos are not uploaded to the server in the current product. Public profiles therefore do not yet display a stored photo from our servers.
What other people can see
Completed profiles may appear in Browse Profiles. Public introductions currently include a limited set of fields such as name, age, education, occupation, location, and community details you have saved.
Other members do not see your mobile number, email address, OTP, or session cookie. Partner preferences and some additional profile fields are stored on your account and are not part of the current public browse card.
Interest and Matches
When you send Interest, the application records who sent it, who received it, and whether it is pending, accepted, or declined.
If Interest is accepted, a Match is created between those two accounts. Signed-in members can see their own sent Interest, received Interest, and Matches. Those records are not published as a public directory.
Email we send
If you use email to register or sign in, we send OTP messages so you can verify that address.
If your email address is verified and another member sends you Interest, the application may send an automated notification email with a link back to Interests in your account. If email is missing or not verified, that notification is skipped. Interest still appears in the website.
Cookies
The application uses an HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in after OTP verification. That cookie is required for authenticated features such as sending Interest, reviewing received Interest, and opening Matches.
We did not find analytics, advertising, or other tracking cookies in the current website. This page does not claim that such cookies are used. A language preference cookie may be stored so the site can remember whether you chose English or Hindi.
How this information is used
Information is used to operate the product you see:
- Create and authenticate accounts
- Save and display your profile to you
- Show completed profiles in Browse Profiles
- Send, receive, accept, and decline Interest
- Create Matches and show them in My Matches
- Send OTP and, where email is verified, Interest notifications
- Remember your language preference on this website
Keeping and changing information
Account, profile, Interest, and Match records are kept so the website can show you a consistent account. This page does not invent a specific deletion timeline or a self-service account-deletion button, because those are not currently published in the product.
You can update profile details through Edit Profile. You can sign out at any time, which clears the session cookie on that browser.
Age
Profile setup requires you to be at least 18 years old. Bahujan Samaj Vivah is intended for adults seeking a life partner.
